Fun on the allotment.

I'm a student, chef, gardner, photographer and general procrastinator. On the 5th November 2011 I inherited an old battered allotmentand started this blog so people can watch as I work and play to make it my dream larder.
The Kindness of Strangers
A few months back I commented on this picture, from StarryOwl’s blog.
The poppy she photographed was an amazing double pastel pink had given 10 flowers! I half jokingly half wishfully commented, asking if she would save me some seeds … I then forgot all about it.
Today, a couple of months later, I received this lovely little packet in the post. I’m genuinely amazed by the generosity of strangers.

In return I’m trying to get some blackcurrant seeds from my grandparents, which I can send back. I’ll keep the blog updated on how that goes (as I’ll have to research how to germinate them too).

- Gary.
