Fun on the allotment.

I'm a student, chef, gardner, photographer and general procrastinator. On the 5th November 2011 I inherited an old battered allotmentand started this blog so people can watch as I work and play to make it my dream larder.
Frost defence part 2:

So the frost has been and gone now, but if you follow my blog you’ll know I was taking certain measures to protect my plot from the incoming sub zero.

One of these measures was in the form of a small plastic ‘greenhouse.’ I picked it up from my local JTF (clearance warehouse) for just a tenner, so I wasn’t expecting it to do much. Out of curiosity I put my weather station in there and was surprised to see it reading 16-17 degrease even at 7pm when I get in from work. Impressive.

In the long run I’ll use it as a cold frame, but for now it’s helping my seedling along nicely and protecting my young soon-to-be-transplanted plugs from the wacky global warming weather changes.
